The results showed that participants are both proud of being a Filipino and of the Philippines regardless of K-drama consumption. In this study, patriotism is defined as the pride one feels for his country. In order to validate the relationship, the researchers conducted an in-depth interview with five K-drama fans and five non-fans, and compared and contrasted the patriotism of the members of each group in relation to K-drama consumption. However, despite the success of Hallyu, anti-Hallyu movements have been formed across Asia, eliciting different explanations from experts, one of which is linked to the concept of patriotism. Three theories were utilized to explain the successful proliferation of K-drama in Asian countries: Cultural Proximity Theory, Media Dependency Theory, and Uses and Gratifications Theory. The rise of Hallyu 1.0 or Korean TV drama to popularity in the mid-1990s became possible through the help of media. This study explored the possible effects of watching Korean TV drama on the patriotism of students. The researchers of this present study propose that future linguistic and political researchers concentrate on creating a framework for an outline of campaign speeches. Material process was the most used verb process while existential process was the least. Transitivity processes were also present in the study. Among the women speech styles categories, super polite forms generated the highest frequency while question intonation on declaratives yielded the least. Additionally, all the women speech styles were employed by the women politicians except for precise color terms, hypercorrect grammar, avoidance of strong swear words, and expressions of apology. The study also yielded other categories in the campaign speech outlines that were not mentioned in Sharndama’s (2015) outline of speech. The results of the study revealed that the women politicians utilized all the six parts of the speech outline in their campaign speeches namely appreciations, declaration of intentions, international relations and foreign policies, unveiling plans and ideologies, appeal for unity, and ending. These speeches were transcribed and translated that served as the bases of the study. The current research involved ten campaign speeches of selected Filipino women politicians. Moreover, this study elaborated and focused on the outline of speech, women speech styles, and transitivity processes. This study investigated how Filipino women politicians, within the 2010-2016 campaign periods, constructed their campaign speeches in order to gain public support by looking into the speeches’ structure and meaning making.
